  • 360 g granulated sugar
  • 360 g butter
  • 6 eggs
  • 30 g unsweetened black cocoa powder
  • 1½ tsp baking powder
  • ½ tsp salt
  • 90 ml milk
  • 2 tsp vanilla extract
  • 400 g butter (for frosting)
  • 800 g powdered sugar
  • 1¼ tsp vanilla extract (for frosting)
  • 2 tbsp milk or cream (optional – if the buttercream is too stiff)
  • Electric green food coloring (a few drops)
  • 250 g Orange fondant
  • 200 g Black fondant
  • 1 tbsp CMC powder
  • Sprinkles

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 180°C (350°F). Grease and line baking trays.
  2. Cream together butter and sugar until fluffy. Add eggs one at a time.
  3. Sift flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, and salt; mix with wet ingredients alternately with milk.
  4. Bake for about 50 minutes until a skewer comes out clean. Cool completely.
  5. Beat butter for frosting; add powdered sugar and vanilla. Adjust consistency with milk if needed and mix in food coloring.
  6. Layer crumbled cake, frosting, and sprinkles in jars. Decorate with fondant witch legs.
