Instructions
- Prepare a baking sheet lined with greased baking paper.
- Insert bamboo skewers into each apple.
- In a saucepan, combine sugar, water, corn syrup, and black food coloring over medium heat.
- Stir gently until the sugar dissolves; then stop stirring and wash down the pot sides with a wet brush.
- Cook until reaching hard crack stage (150ºC/310ºF).
- Carefully dip each apple into the caramel mixture, swirling to coat evenly.
- Place dipped apples on the prepared sheet to cool completely before serving.
