Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line an 8×8 baking dish with parchment paper.
  2. In one bowl, mix together the brownie base ingredients: sugar, flour, cocoa powder, salt, and baking powder. In another bowl, whisk together the eggs, vegetable oil, and vanilla extract. Combine wet and dry ingredients until just mixed.
  3. For the cheesecake swirl, beat the cream cheese until smooth. Add sugar, an egg, vanilla extract, and orange food coloring; mix until creamy.
  4. Pour half of the brownie batter into the lined dish, followed by the cheesecake mixture. Dollop the remaining brownie batter on top and gently swirl with a knife.
  5. Bake for about 30 minutes or until a toothpick comes out with moist crumbs. Allow to cool before cutting into squares.
