- 1 pound (2 cups) unsalted butter, softened
- 3 cups granulated sugar
- 6 large eggs, room temperature
- 4 cups all-purpose flour, sifted
- 1 cup whole milk
- 1 tbsp pure vanilla extract
- Optional: 1 tsp almond extract
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 300F (150C). Grease and flour a 10-inch tube or bundt pan.
- In a large bowl, cream the softened butter until light and fluffy. Gradually add the sugar and beat until pale and fluffy.
- Add the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition.
- On low speed, alternately add sifted flour and whole milk to the mixture, starting and ending with flour.
- Stir in vanilla extract and optional almond extract.
- Pour the batter into the prepared pan and smooth out the top. Bake for 1 hour and 30 minutes to 1 hour and 45 minutes until a toothpick comes out clean.
- Allow to cool in the pan for about 10-15 minutes before transferring it to a wire rack.
