Instructions

- Add uncooked rice, bay leaf, and brown sugar; mix thoroughly.
- Bring to a gentle simmer over medium heat; reduce if necessary.
- Cook for about 25 minutes until rice is tender, stirring occasionally.
- Remove bay leaf before serving; garnish with freshly chopped parsley.
