- ¼ cup water (for cinnamon drizzle)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9-inch baking pan.
- In a mixing bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
- In another bowl, cream the softened butter and granulated sugar until light and fluffy. Add eggs one at a time, followed by vanilla extract and sour cream/yogurt.
- Gently fold the dry ingredients into the wet mixture before adding the diced apples.
- Pour the batter into the prepared pan and sprinkle with crumb topping made from brown sugar, flour, cinnamon, and cold butter.
- Bake for 40–45 minutes until golden brown and a toothpick comes out clean.
- Prepare the cinnamon apple drizzle by cooking diced apples with butter, brown sugar, cinnamon, and water until soft.
- Drizzle the warm mixture over cooled cake before serving.
