- 25 g cold butter, cubed (for crumble topping)
- 4 tbsp powdered sugar (for glaze)
- 1–2 tsp milk (for glaze)
Instructions
- In a mixing bowl, combine flour, sugar, yeast, and salt. In another bowl, whisk warm milk and egg; add to dry ingredients along with softened butter. Knead until smooth.
- Allow the dough to rise in a greased bowl for 30-45 minutes until doubled in size.
- For the fillings, beat cream cheese with sugar and vanilla until smooth. Sauté diced apples with butter, brown sugar, and cinnamon until tender.
- Roll out the risen dough into a rectangle; spread cheesecake filling then apple filling evenly before rolling tightly into a log shape.
- Cut the log into six equal pieces and place them cut-side up on a lined baking sheet; let them rise for an additional 20-30 minutes.
- Prepare crumble topping by mixing flour, sugar, and cold butter until crumbly; sprinkle over buns before baking.
- Preheat oven to 180°C (350°F) and bake for 20-25 minutes until golden brown.
- Whisk powdered sugar with milk for glaze; drizzle over warm buns before serving.
